Mar Meets the Bloggers
Last August 1, 2008, we had a casual dinner meeting for Senator Roxas and several Philippine bloggers. There was a good mix of bloggers from various niches - politics, tech, consumer products, personal, and even animal rights. The meeting was set for 5:00PM-6:00PM at Annabel’s Restaurant along Tomas Morato, Quezon City. To say that the discussion was interesting is an understatement! There were a lot of topics covered - from taxes, policies, and even the Batman “Dark Knight” movie.

Thanks to the following bloggers who attended this event: Susan “Toots” Ople, Noemi Dado, Lester Cavestany, Jester, Arbet Bernardo, Marck Rimorin, Juned Sunido, Sonnie Santos, Abe Olandres, Paolo Florenda, Ding Gagelonia, Gail Villanueva, Marc Villanueva, Ellen Tordesillas, Manolo Quezon, and Ricky Carandang.
I’ll leave it to the bloggers who attended to tell you guys what happened during the event. So far, here are the blog entries that came up:

10 Tough Questions for Mar Roxas
1)Do you want the endorsement of Gloria Arroyo for 2010?
2) What’s happening to the Liberal party under your leadership? Still with two wings flying nowhere?
3)Do you agree with the “No Fear” underwear slogan of “Got the balls”?
4) What will Mr. Palengke really do if Gloria mounts an aggressive Charter Change move?
5)Any new commercials for Tide? For other multinationals?
6) What is your position on the postponement of the ARMM elections?
7)Have you found your true north yet?
8)Any plans of becoming a true opposition leader?
9)When will you stop being coy about your 2010 plans?
10)Do you really want to be president? For what reasons???
That’s very funny. Politics is addition. Have Sen. Roxas looked at Top Blogs Philippines, the top listed sites are what he should invite and not those above. Most of those above no one reads but a handful, who obviously is by people who already makes up the AB market.
What will they think of next?
‘Villards’ kicks off; ‘MARathon’ next?
The inaugural Villards Media Wizards is set to kick off this Saturday, August 2, when journalists and news crew from various television and radio stations and newspapers get the chance to display their billiards prowess.
The event is spearheaded by Senate President Manny Villar, who has recently been acting as a “patron” of the local billiards scene.
EQ VIEW:When with the “MARathon” start? Attention MAR Roxas!
An auspicious start, Senator Mar. ‘President Mar’ next? Keep the faith po and please share with us your take on the establishment of the Bangsamoro Juridical Entity. Kindly see:

Sayang! I wish I was there. But whatever happens, me and my blog support the good senator and his advocacy! More power, Mr. Palengke.
You have my vote of confidence.
Best,
GM T
You’re welcome Carlo. Please extend my appreciation also to Mr. Palengke
Where is Kevin Ray Chua in that event ?
@Dexter
This is just the first of many blogger meet-ups that we have lined up. We couldn’t bring in Kevin because he’s in Cebu but we will definitely invite him when we organize blogger meet-ups in Visayas and Mindanao.

@Carlo I will really attend the meet-up. I will also invite the members of the Cebu Bloggers’ Society. Just inform me Carlo. Thanks!

Hi Kevin! I’ll talk to the people at Mar’s office to see if we can fast track the Cebu meet-up. Thanks bro!
HI senator. I am one of your avid supporter and really looking forward to campaign for your presidential candidacy coming 2010. Count my vote already for 2010. About the virtual rally for the e-vat on oil, I hope that something positive will come out from that. I believe that it will really help us all to survive in this crisis that we are facing now. About the episode on the MRT, that was really cool! I can see the sincerity naman eh. Keep it up sir.
Hmm. sasama ako sa susunod na blogger meet-up. Meron kasi akong mga tanung na gusto kong i-clarify. Sana iinvite naman ako.
Si Kevin nga rin ang hinanap ko sa event na yun. :p
Btw, sabi ko nga sa blog ni Noemi: “It’s good to start early, despite the digital divide. I’m glad to know that we have leaders who are willing to try new ways of communicating with the people.” Nauna na si Sen. Mar sa Pinoy cybersphere. :)
